During the week of Vacation Bible School we will participate in two mission projects. The first is a local mission project, participants are asked to bring canned goods each evening. The second is a mission project outlined in the VBS materials with participants raising money to purchase mosquito nets for children living in areas where malaria runs rampant. We hope our members will also support BOTH missions. Those interested may bring canned goods on Sundays, June 17 & 24 or make a donation notating “mosquito nets” on their check or envelope.
Thankfully, we have already had a good response of individuals volunteering. But, as is always true, the more helpers we have the more smoothly things will run. We have many opportunities remaining for individuals who wish to volunteer, some that will require preparation work and some that do not. We are hoping to have at least two adults with each group of young people who can lead them from place to place. Please consider volunteering a couple of hours each evening. If you cannot do that, please come a night or two just to help.
As always, let the children in your neighborhood know about our VBS. We also ask that you pray for the children that will attend. Please help us as we seek to teach these young people of God’s love for them. Working together we can make this VBS something the children will look back upon, for it is the sewing of a seed.
