Operation Christmas Child

Posted on Thu, Oct 20, 2011

It’s time again for Operation Christmas Child! Gather your shoe boxes and begin filling them with goodies!

Once again you have the opportunity to fill a child’s life with joy this Christmas with Operation Christmas Child. Use a shoebox and fill it with gifts for a boy or a girl. For gift ideas visit First Presbyterian Church will again serve as an Operation Christmas Child drop-off point. Shoe boxes will be collected on Monday, November 14– Monday, November 21st.

Operation Christmas Child is one of my favorite activities. Our family has enjoyed an evening of shopping and filling boxes, ending with hot chocolate for a number of years! It's a great activity!

This is the third year that First Pres. has served as a drop off location for shoe-boxes that show God's love thru Christ to another human being. The mission is supported by all denominations in our area, which is attested to by the fact that Toccoa collected 1231 shoe-boxes this year!! That is the average for Toccoa. Is this a Spirit miracle in this economy, or just who we are?. We pray the love that passes all understanding is felt by the recipient. These gifts help children know they are not forgotten in areas that are very impoverished, war-torn, or both. in Christ, Dave
